Matt's policy priorities are focused on fighting for our Connecticut values, moving past the political games of our current senator and working towards a brighter future for the families and workers of Western Connecticut.
Deliver Fair, Reliable Funding for Our Public Schools
Every child deserves a strong public education, no matter their ZIP code. Matt will fight to secure our fair share of state funding so local taxpayers aren’t left filling the gap. That means investing in classrooms, supporting teachers, and ensuring every student has the tools they need to succeed.
End Costly Unfunded Mandates on Our Communities
The state shouldn’t pass requirements without paying for them. These unfunded mandates force towns to raise property taxes just to keep up. Matt will work to end this practice and ensure municipalities aren’t stuck covering costs for decisions made in Hartford.
Fully Fund Special Education for Every Student
Students with special needs deserve consistent, fully supported services. Matt will push for full reimbursement of excess special education costs so schools can meet those needs without placing added strain on local budgets or cutting other essential programs.
Support Small Businesses and Local Entrepreneurs
Small businesses power our local economy and create jobs in our communities. Matt will work to cut red tape, expand access to capital, and support startups so businesses can grow, hire, and succeed right here in Connecticut.
Protect and Strengthen Connecticut’s Family Farms
Family farms are vital to our economy, environment, and heritage. Matt will support policies that keep farms viable, preserve open space, and strengthen local agriculture so future generations can continue this important Connecticut tradition.
Expand Access to Affordable Health Care Coverage
Health care should be accessible and affordable for every family. Matt will support a public option to lower costs, increase competition, and expand coverage so more residents and small businesses can get the care they need.
Stand Up to Extremism and Defend Our Values
Connecticut stands for fairness, inclusion, and common sense. Matt will stand up to the MAGA-driven extremism that threatens our rights and divides our communities, and work to protect the values that make our state strong.
Defend Reproductive Freedom and Protect Choice
Reproductive health decisions belong to patients, not politicians. Matt will defend access to safe, legal abortion and ensure Connecticut remains a place where personal freedom and privacy are respected and protected.
